The interdepartmental panel discussion provides an opportunity for enhanced efforts and renewed commitment towards undergraduate and postgraduate education. Hence such an event was initiated for the benefit of the students on behalf of the department of dermatology by Professor and HOD Dr. N. Balasubramanian. The idea was well planned by Professor Dr. Sivaraman, HOD, Department of Psychiatry. The Professor and HOD of Medicine Dr. Sivakumar was invited over to share his thoughts as panelist. The show was monitored by MEU Co-ordinator Dr. Kamala who also shared her inputs regarding betterment.
The session was chaired by Dr.N. Balasubramanian and moderated by Dr. Sivaraman who systematically laid his views and questions to the panelists. In the panel Dr. R. S. Seethalakshmi and Dr. K. Akila presented the clinical data and experience of their dermatology department which was then opened for discussion by other panel members. Similarly Professor Dr. Prabhakaran and Dr. Ronald Roy discussed the psychiatric presentations in their experience. The Chairperson ended each topic with his clinical expertise. The moderator ended the session with a thought provoking research point of view.
It was an open panel discussion wherein the students actively participated and clarified their queries directly to the speakers. Totally 85 students – Post graduate and CRRIs attended the session and got benefitted from a live interactive
