The Medical Education Unit and IQAC department of Trichy SRM Medical College had organized a Hands on workshop in developing LMS tools from 21.4.2022 to 22.4.2022. The conception of an idea for such an innovative program was by our Honorable Chairman, Dr.R.Shivakumar which was successfully executed by the chairperson of MEU – Dr. S. Revwathy (Dean) and by MEU Coordinator Dr.E.Kamala, Associate Professor of Anatomy. Workshop was conducted by resource persons Dr Gayathri Monicka, Professor, Department of ECE, SRM IST, Ramapuram campus and Dr C. Amuthadevi, Associate Professor, Department of Computational intelligence , SRM IST, Kattankulathur Campus.The program lasted from 8.30 am to 4:30 pm.
The Inaugural ceremony started with Thamizh Thai vazhthu and a welcome speech by Dr. E. kamala MEU co ordinator, IQAC, Head of criteria II, Associate Professor, Anatomy, TSRMMCH & RC.Inaugural address was given by Dr. N. Balasubramanian (Deputy Director, Trichy SRM campus) and Dr. N. Malmurugan (Director, Trichy SRM campus). Day 1: Session was started by the resource persons with the introduction of importance of LMS tools in medical institutes. It was followed by sensitization and briefing about various tools including Moodle, Edpuzzle, Mentimeter, Edmodo, video editors, PPT animation, voice notes, loom, Jamboard, Google keep, nearpod, one note, flickers, hot potatoes. All the tools were explained in detail, and hands on training were given. Course modules were developed by participants under the supervision of resource persons. They also highlighted the importance of tools like Go to webinar, Go to meet, dojo, limnu, in shot recording, gnomio and so on. Day 2 : Worksop started with discussion of previous days assignment, doubt clarification. Again hands on training was given for the above mentioned tools. Workshop was brought to an end with the feedback and questioning session from the participants. Felicitation and certificate distribution was by Dr S. Revwathy (Dean, TSRMMCH & RC) who appreciated about the workshop. Dr S. Priya Banthavi (Academic co ordinator and Professor, Pathology TSRMMCH & RC) thanked one and all for their participation and valuable inputs. |

Feedback were obtained on the lectures, hands on sessions, environment & technical resources, communication & dissemination, overall satisfaction.
Overall the entire workshop went on as per the planned schedule and no hassles were reported. Lots of questions were raised by the participants and the speakers efficiently addressed those questions. Almost all the participants were satisfied with the sessions covered in the workshop. Moreover majority of them have told that there was adequate time for hands on training. Participants were satisfied about excellent technical arrangements of the workshop. The overall strengths of this workshop were resource persons, organizing team, content of the sessions, use of interactive and innovative methods. Participants also gave individual suggestions in terms of allotting more time for group activities for the betterment of sessions.
