The Department of Transfusions Medicine started functioning from July 2009 before which all the Medical officers & Technicians were attached to the central Lab and Pathology Department. We got the License for whole Blood in June 2009  License No being  303/ 28C which is valid up to June 2024.In the last 3 ½ years the voluntary donors coming to our hospital has gradually increased by our repeated motivation programmes. Students particularly from M.A.M College & Ramakrishna college of Engineering come forward readily to donate blood voluntarily, whenever they are called. Various staff working in our own hospital & college and also students from our medical college, TRP Engineering College & our Catering College have voluntarily donated blood many times for many poor & needy patients.

  • We have got the Camp Licence in December 2011 which is valid for two years from  the date of issue. We have conducted Blood donation camps in M.A.M college and MRF Limited and   are planning to conduct many more camps in future with the help of the Administrative office & Marketing Dept.
  • We have collected blood from more than 1000 donors in the year 2019, the best number in the last 2 years.
  • We have formed a blood donor s club where many of our students have become members and help us during emergency requirements.
  • We have counseled all the donors who were Positive for HIV, HBsAg, or HCV and motivated them to undergo proper treatment.
  • Last but not the least, we are planning to issue only blood components in future and not the whole blood in order to minimize the incidence of Transfusion Reaction.
  • We are planning to undergo special training programme and update our knowledge in component separation in the near future.
