MICROSPIRE 2021 (Virtual CME and Workshop)

MICROSPIRE-2021, a virtual CME cum Workshop program was conducted by the Department of Microbiology on October 21 &22, 2021.

Organizing Secretary – Dr. A. Anupriya, Associate Professor Microbiology

Participants – A total of 158 Clinical Microbiologists including PG students pursuing MD Microbiology participated in this programme through online mode

Outline: This Program outlined the operational and administrative challenges that Clinical microbiologists face and to cope up with the evolution of automation and other related technologies that are shaping the way laboratory medicine will be practiced in the future.

Goal: To prepare the budding Clinical microbiologists to become competent in the following areas- Laboratory testing, Diagnostic skills, Leadership skills, Laboratory Safety, and Communication skills.

Objective: To create a platform for young budding clinical microbiologists to update and discuss the advanced Laboratory testing methods, share updates on Diagnostic challenges and prepare them to take up the responsibility of Leadership and Organizational challenges they would require in the present and future laboratory Microbiology practice.

Assessment and Accreditation: This programme was assessed and accredited with 10 credit points under category II by The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai

Also conducting events also motivates faculty to work as a team and provides an opportunity for professional development.
