TSRMMCHRC students won National Award for the short film on Anti Leprosy

Central Leprosy Teaching & Research Institute, Chengalpattu conducted Anti Leprosy Fortnight from 30th January 2019 to 13th February 2019. As a part of this fortnight program, CLTRI decided to conduct various competitions like Quiz on leprosy, Drawing, Short Films etc. The theme of the short film competition was “Zero Discrimination of Leprosy Patients”.

At Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, the CRRI students under the guidance of Dr N. Balasubramanian, the Deputy Director, started the shooting of a short film named “Chief Guest” on 8th February 2019. The story and screenplay was designed by
Dr Kirubahar, Assistant professor of Anesthesia department. G. Rajasekar, CRRI, directed the short film. The camera was handled by another CRRI, Chandramouli. The shooting was completed in a single day. The location of the shooting was held at the Skin Ward. Ms Shrinithi (CRRI) acted as the doctor in the short film. Dubbing was done on 9th February. Editing was done by Harish Babu (CRRI). The short film was submitted by uploading on google drive and sending a link on 11th February 2019. The short film was screened on 12th February 2019 at Chengalpattu where a team of judges including Dr Veerakumaran, the Head of Surgical Unit at CLTRI, selected the best short films. The judges gave the second prize to our short film “Chief Guest” among 20 other entries.

The prize distribution was held on 13th February 2019 at CLTRI, Chengalpattu. The best two short films were screened for the audience and one among it was “Chief Guest”.
