INTRODUCTION

Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre (TSRMMCHRC) is a unit of SRM group of educational Institutions. SRM (Sri Ramasamy Memorial) ventured into higher education in 1984, and since then, it has grown and gained recognition at the National and International level. TSRMMCHRC is the long felt dream of Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar, the Founder Chancellor of the SRM group of institutions. It was his wish to establish a medical college in a rural area, to ensure quality health care delivery to a diverse population. His vision came to fruition when TSRMMCHRC launched health care services from Irungalur village, MannachanallurTaluk, Tiruchirappalli of Tamil Nadu State. With each year, the college and hospital continue to flourish and bring world slot gacor renowned health care to all concerned, while also functioning as a minority institution. In recognition of the achievements and contributions of Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar, to education including health care and technology, he was conferred a doctorate by the Faculty of Technology, Engineering and Environment, Birmingham City University (BCU) of United Kingdom on February 19, 2010 (www.timeschennai.com). The title was conferred for the excellent work rendered by him in the field of Engineering and Technology education. At present, this institution is headed by Dr.R.Shivakumar, the Chairman of TSRMMCHRC, who is a dynamic personality with a never ending quest for research.

TSRMMCHRC is located on the Trichy – Chennai National Highway 45 that passes through Irungalur village. The hospital established services as a multi-specialty 350 bedded teaching hospital in the year 2008 (Essentiality Certificate: Government Letter no 54396/MCA2/2007-3. Dated 27.06.08, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai). It is well connected by road to all the villages and towns in and around the hospital area. The Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre started functioning as a full fledged medical college with intake of 150 UG MBBS students from 2009-2010 academic year. Today the institution is a multi-specialty centre and boasts a 1575 bedded hospital with teaching beds of 1070 that caters to patients from neighbouring villages and from Trichy city. It is a MCI recognised college offering MBBS and MD courses, affiliated to the Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. In recognition of the phenomenal growth in recent times, TSRMMCHRC was placed among the top ten emerging medical colleges in India by the India Today-Nielson survey 2016. TSRMMCH&RC has PG admissions in all Preclinical, Paraclinical& Clinical Broad Specialities. In recognition of services available to patients and inturn to students, TSRMMCH&RC is permitted by National Medical Commission to admit 250 UG MBBS students from the academic year 2022-2023.TSRMMCHRC is the ideal place togel macau for nurturing the growth and development of every student to be the bright doctors of tomorrow who will strengthen health care delivery from the grass root level.
